Tom Holland has confirmed that additional photography is currently underway for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth solo Spider-Man film scheduled for release on July 31, 2026.

In a recent interview with GQ, the actor shared that he is in London shooting new scenes, but he was quick to reassure fans that these reshoots are not due to any problems with the movie. “I can positively say that the stuff we’re doing, we don’t need,” Holland explained. “The movie works and sings as it is. We’re just adding the icing on the cake in certain areas.”

The focus of the new material is clear and exciting. Holland revealed they are finding ways to inject a little bit more humor into the film while also layering in a villain plotline in a new way along with “some really fun stuff.” This approach suggests Marvel and director Destin Daniel Cretton are fine-tuning the balance between heart, action, and laughs that has defined Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy.

The reshoots come at a perfect time, just months before the film’s summer 2026 release. With the core story already strong, these additions aim to elevate what many are calling one of the most ambitious entries in the series yet. Earlier comments from Holland also hinted at a major physical mutation storyline for Peter Parker, driven by isolation and pressure, which could tie directly into the enhanced villain arc being developed.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up four years after No Way Home, with Peter living in a world that has forgotten his identity. The film stars Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, and introduces Jon Bernthal as the Punisher in a highly anticipated role. Additional cast members include Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, and Michael Mando.

Holland’s latest update reinforces his earlier enthusiasm, where he called Brand New Day his favorite Spider-Man movie. The combination of added humor, a reimagined villain storyline, and deeper character elements is generating even more anticipation among fans.

While full plot details remain under wraps, these reshoots signal that Marvel is putting the finishing touches on a film that promises to blend classic Spider-Man charm with fresh, high-stakes storytelling. As Holland continues shooting “really, really fun” new scenes, excitement continues to build for what could be Peter Parker’s most intense and entertaining adventure to date.
