Rajat was born on 1 Jun 1993 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He completed his schooling at New Digamber Public School, Indore. His brother’s name is Mahendra Patidar and his sister’s name is Sunita Patidar. After completing school, he followed his passion and started playing cricket professionally. He has been playing domestic cricket from Madhya Pradesh for the last 5 years. The main turn of his life came when RCB purchased him in an IPL auction in 20 Lakh Rupees. In 2021, if he gets a chance to play for RCB we will see something amazing from him.
He made his first debut on 30 October 2015 -16 Ranji Trophy. This was his first professional match toward a successful career. On 8 January 2018, he made his debut in T20 by playing the 2017–18 Zonal T20 League for Madhya Pradesh. He plays the right arm batsman role in cricket.
In the 2015 -16 Ranji Trophy tournament he performed well. In the quarterfinal match against Bengal, he scored a century. He played for Madhya Pradesh and MP team won and reached the semi-final.
He had experience with many teams. He mainly plays for Madhya Pradesh and also played for India B, India Blue. Recently in 2021 in an IPL auction, Royal Challenger Bangalore bought him. This year we can see him playing for RCB.
