Jiitin Prasad is an Indian politician & former Minister of State for Human Resource. He is from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He was a member of the Indian National Congress from 2001 to 2021. On 9 Jun 2021, he left the Indian National Congress and joined Bhartiya Janta Party. Jitin Prasada was the MLA from Lok Sabha constituency Dhaurahra from the district Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh in the 15th Lok Sabha. He is a well-educated person.

Jiitin Prasad was born on 29 November 1973 in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His father’s name is Jitendra Prasad and his Mother’s name is Kanta Prasad. His grandfather Jyoti Prasad was a Congress party member and his grandmother’s name is Pamela Prasad. His great grandfather Jwala Prasad was a Colonial Civil Service officer and great grandmother Purnima Devi, youngest daughter of Hemendranath Tagore brother of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore.
He completed his schooling at the all-boys’ boarding school, The Doon School in Dehradun. After school for college he choose Bcom and Completed his graduation in Bcom from the Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. After he completed his MBA from IMI, New Delhi.
After completing his education he became a politician. He kept his feet in politics in 2001 with IYC Indian Youth Congress as a general secretary. From 2001 to 2021, almost 20 years he was part of the Indian National Congress party and on 9 Jun 2021 he left the Congress and Joined BJP.
In February 2010 Jitin Prasada tied the knot with Neha Seth who is a former TOI and CNN IBN journalist.
He made his political debut in 2001. He started his started his career with IYC Indian Youth Congress as a general secretary. After choosing politics as a career, 3 years didn’t happen any good activity. In 2004, he got a chance to participate in the election. He didn’t miss this opportunity and he won his first election and was elected Member of the Parliament in the 14th Lok Sabha from his hometown constituency of Shahjahanpur, UP. Now he was a member of the Lok Sabha.
He became the minister of State for Steel in his first tenure as the Member of the Parliament and named as one of the youngest ministers in the Cabinet. This was the good start of his political career.
In 2009, again he got a chance to fight in the election. he fought and won the election from Dhaurara, as his home bastion Shahjahanpur came under the delimitation process.
He completed his promise for converting the Meter gauge railway track of the district Lakhimpur Kheri to Broad gauge. After completing his promise public showed good support from the public.
In 2008 Prasada laid the foundation of the Steel factory in his constituency Dhaurahra.
For the 14th Lok Sabha, Jitin held the positions for Committee on Petitions (Member); Committee on Information Technology and Communications (Member); Consultative Committee, Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Ministry of Steel.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Prasada lost the election and his seat was won by BJP candidate Rekha Verma.
On 9 Jun 2021, he left the Indian National Congress party and joined Bhartiya Janta Party. He was part of the Indian National Congress and now he is part of BJP.
