Early Life

Bagadi Gautham was born on 1 July 1981 in VISALASHINAGAR, Andhra Pradesh, India. He completed his schooling from “St. Aloysius School”. He studied Intermediate in B V K Jr. College with Bi.P.C group in the years 1996-98. He secured a seat in Medicine in Rangaraya Medical College, Kakinada. While duing medicine he started preparing for IAS. He cleared the CSI in his 3rd attempt. He says about his success that proper planning was the key to his success.

He got married with Aswathi on 14 February 2019. He is an IAS officer of the 2009 batch. He got 23rd Rank in the Civil Service examination in 2008.


In 2008 he passed the Civil Service examination and Got the rank of 23 and became an IAS officer. He succeeded in his 3rd attempt. He joined the service on 31/08/2009.

He served as Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat, Raichur District from 5 September 2017 to 21 5 September 2017.

In 2020, he was working as Deputy Commissioner and
District Magistate of Chikkamagalur.

On 13 February 2021, he has transferred as Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement) in Bengaluru.

On 6 Jun 2021, he took charge of Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru. He is replaced by IAS officers Rohini Sindhuri and Shilpa Nag.


On 23 January 2020, a video went viral in which DC Bagadi Gautham slapped the revenue inspector. After this video went viral, In the reply of this video he denied the allegation. In a written statement, released to media, the officer said the allegation was far from the true. The DC said during his visit to Hirebailu that he did question the Revenue Inspector and Panchayat Development Officer about the delay in releasing the funds for relief but did not assault anyone.

He was on a visit to the flood-hit areas to review the relief measures at Hirebailu village in Mudigere taluk. The officer reportedly got angry as the RI had not processed the release of funds despite clear instructions from senior officers.
